About Us
My name is Ted DeNofio Jr. and I am the owner/trainer/groomer at Ted’s Pet Country Club. I didn’t want it to be another boring me, me, me About Us page, so I told my family and staff what a difficult time I was having. They gave me lots of ideas.
Kim, my wife, friend and sounding board for over 20 years said “Try to focus on how dedicated everyone at the shop is and how much you all love and care for all the pets you groom and train”. She would know! She knows how much I love animals and that I only hire people who love animals as well.
My son Teddy, who helps with a lot of my computer and technical needs, said “Only you can write it because it has to come from the heart and then it will be perfect. Your love of dogs will easily come through”. Good advice! That helped me get started writing this.
My son Danny, who works with us on Saturdays because he is still in school, said that he thinks I should write about “how much we care about every pet”. He’s right about that! When you love animals as much as we do, that’s the easy part.
My daughter Lexi, a Marketing Executive and former Bather/Assistant Groomer, said “I think the most important thing is that you are a very small and intimate company. You guys get to know your customers and their pets personally”. Well said Lexi! That goes a long way towards building trust with your customers and especially with their pets. In order for grooming and training to be a pleasant experience for your pet, they must first trust us. So we work very hard to build that trust every single encounter we have with them.
Tricia Lee, one of our Master Pet Trimmers who has been with us since 1995 said she thinks “the thing we emphasize the most is the safety and well being of the pets in our care”. She’s right, because your pet’s safety always has to be the number one priority! We emphasize safety in everything, from the equipment we use such as non slip padded tubs, padded electric tables, and dryers without heating coils, to the products we use such as chemical free dips, tear free facials, and all natural shampoos. But we especially emphasize safety and well being in our handling of your pets. We even act as another set of eyes by reporting any issues we may notice with your pets health.
Monica Blake is also a Master Pet Trimmer and has been with us since 1998. She said “talk about our focus on quality”. We do focus very hard on quality! I wish everyone could see how concerned every one of our staff is with making sure everything is done right.
Josh Kincaid, one of our bathing professionals and a friend of my family for many years said “Make sure you mention how obsessed you are with perfection at work”. I’m not a big fan of the word “obsessed”, but I think he meant that in a good way!
I even mentioned it to one of my distributors and he said “You keep this place really clean…you should see some of the places I go to”. Thank you! We work really hard to keep the salon clean and hygienic. Besides a nice friendly greeting, the first thing you will notice when you visit us is a clean, bright, cheerful environment.
As for me, I say THANK YOU to my loving family, dedicated staff, and most of all, my customers, old and new, for allowing me to live my dream of working with animals for a living. I am truly blessed.
